This was our home away from home in Mongolia. It is in a beautiful national park that is about an hour or so from Ulaan Baatar, the capital. Former nomadic families have land here that they use to raise stock and operate guest gers. These felt tent like structures are quite wonderful. We got to explore the area on foot and on horse back and ate in a central ger as a group and watched their wide screen satellite TV. The help were all family, several teen aged children. Boys did the horses and carried stoves, lit fires at night and the girls did the laundry and the meals with their portable automatic washer, microwave and Teflon electric cooking pots. The gir was maze of extension cords!
