Everything was free including drinks, popcorn and hot dogs. There were hundreds of people there, mainly families and the community did a wonderful job of putting the event on. There were craft and hobby displays, historic displays, agricultural displays and lots to see and do. In the large gymnasium building there were a wide variety of traditional games set up for kids to play and included a garden railway set up that was very kid friendly. There was a great Maypole and hula-hoops, bean toss, pin the tail on the goat, table tennis and lots of board games, checkers and arts and crafts tables. It was very simple but great fun for all ages. We were there with number one son Andrew and his wife Jenn and two boys, Simon and Dylan.
Afterwards we went to Englishman River Falls and then back to our condo for supper before they headed back to Vancouver on the ferry. The morning was spent in the hotel pool and then a walk along the boardwalk at the beach and over to the skatepark. It was a great end to a busy but fun weekend.
